Byblos Bank Hosts “Le Cinéma Italien” Exhibition as Main Partner of Photomed

Byblos Bank Headquarters, Monday, 30 January 2017: As main partner of Photomed Lebanon, Byblos Bank inaugurated at its headquarters in Ashrafieh a collective exhibition titled “Le Cinéma Italien” by renowned French photographers Richard Dumas and Alain Fleischer, and Italian photographer Sergio Strizzi..

This special exhibition features 57 unique photographs depicting the golden age of Italian cinema through the eyes of world-renowned photographers. The images document the filming of some of the greatest movies of all time, with rarely seen behind-the-scenes photos of legendary actors.

In her speech for the occasion Nada Tawil, Head of Group Communication Department at Byblos Bank, said: “Byblos Bank is proud to be the main partner of Photomed Lebanon for the fourth consecutive year.” She added: “This collaboration is the result of a common vision towards the future of photography in Lebanon and the development of Lebanese talents.”

Philippe Heullant, President of Photomed Lebanon, said: “These photographs document the history of Italian Cinema, which is an essential part of the moviemaking industry around the world. These works of art contribute, without any doubt, to the construction of a positive discourse in the Mediterranean region.”

For his part Guillaume de Sardes, Artistic Director of Photomed Lebanon, said: “Cinema holds a central place in this year’s exhibition. It is true that the legendary Cinecittà studios stand on the very ground that was once the heart of the Mediterranean’s largest empire.” He added: “Each of the works exhibited at Byblos Bank, in their own way, pay homage to Italian film director Michelangelo Antonioni, one of the greatest imagemakers of the twentieth century.”

The collective exhibition “Le Cinéma Italien” at Byblos Bank Headquarters will be open to the public from Thursday 19 January till Wednesday, 8 February 2017 from 4:00 PM till 9:00 PM during weekdays, and from 10:00 AM till 9:00 PM on weekends.
